Botox/Fillers

Botox/Fillers

Botox and Fillers are both cosmetic treatment procedures used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, but they work in different ways. Botox uses a purified form of botulinum toxin, a neurotoxin produced by Clostridium Botulinum. When injected into specific muscles, Botox temporarily blocks the nerve signals that tell the muscles to contract, causing the muscles to relax. Unlike Botox, Fillers with Calcium Hydroxyapatite are used to directly fill in areas of the skin that have lost volume or have deep lines and folds.

How does Botox Work?

Botox is injected into specific muscles to block the nerve signals, causing the muscles to relax. This reduces the appearance of wrinkles that form due to muscle movement, such as frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines.

How do Fillers Work?

Fillers are injected into areas that have lost volume, such as the cheeks, under-eye area, or nasolabial folds (lines around the mouth). They can also plump up lips or smooth out deeper wrinkles.
