Peels

Peels

Peels are a popular non-surgical treatment in facial aesthetics, used to improve the appearance and texture of the skin by exfoliating the outer layers. They involve the application of a chemical solution to the skin, which causes the top layers to peel off, revealing smoother, clearer, and more youthful-looking skin beneath.

Types:

  • Superficial Peels- Superficial Peels use mild acids like alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) or beta hydroxy acids (BHAs) to exfoliate only the outermost layer of skin (the epidermis).
  • Medium Peels- Medium Peels penetrate deeper into the skin, typically using trichloroacetic acid (TCA) or glycolic acid, targeting both the outer and the middle layers of the skin (epidermis and dermis).
  • Deep Peels- Deep peels use stronger acids, such as phenol, to penetrate deeply into the dermis. This can lead to more dramatic skin rejuvenation.
